ADMISSIONS CRITERIA

Selecting a school for your child is an important decision. We are honored that you are considering Midwest Christian. The success of our partnership and the success of your student’s experience begins with clear expectations. As part of the admissions process, it is a requirement for at least one parent to be in full agreement with MCS's Admissions Criteria.

Spiritual Commitment

  • At least one parent or legal guardian must be a professing believer in Jesus Christ and provide a written Christian testimony. It is preferred that both parents provide written faith testimonies.
  • At least one parent must actively participate in a Bible teaching church, and submit a Pastor's reference.
  • At least one parent or legal guardian must be in full agreement with and willingly sign the Midwest Christian School Statement of Faith.

Academic & Behavior Standards

  • Student(s) and at least one parent or legal guardian must exhibit behavior, both in and out of school, that is consistent with Midwest Christian School’s values: Faith-Centered Living, Purposeful Growth, and Christlike Character.
  • Students transferring from another school are required to provide academic records. These records must demonstrate that Midwest Christian School can meet the learning needs of the student and must reflect passing grades, positive behavior, and minimal absences. To supplement academic records, student applicants may be required to complete an entrance assessment.
  • Midwest Christian School does not accept students who have been recently expelled from another school.

Parent Partnership

Midwest Christian School believes education is most effective when families, the school, and the local church work together in unity. By enrolling at MCS, parents or legal guardians agree to the following commitments:

  • Mission & Support: At least one parent or legal guardian agrees with and supports the mission and biblical values of Midwest Christian School and commits to partnering through prayer, involvement, and faithfully meeting all financial obligations.
  • Generous & Sacrificial Spirit: Parents are encouraged to support MCS with the resources God has entrusted to them—including time, talents, experience, and financial generosity—serving willingly and joyfully (2 Corinthians 9:7)
  • Christlike Conduct: Parents and guardians commit to displaying Christlike behavior in all interactions, treating others with humility, respect, compassion, and love, and encouraging unity within the school community (Colossians 3:12–14; Ephesians 4:29; Romans 14:19).
  • Healthy Communication: Parents agree to speak truth in love, avoid gossip and divisive arguments, and actively pursue peace and unity within the MCS community (Ephesians 4:15; 2 Timothy 2:23–24; 1 Corinthians 1:10).
  • Student Support & Transparency: At least one parent or guardian agrees to fully disclose all academic, behavioral, and conduct-related needs or infractions from current or previous schools to ensure MCS can appropriately support the student’s success.
  • Behavioral Partnership: Parents commit to partnering with MCS in addressing student behavioral concerns with correction, grace, and restoration that honors God (Proverbs 3:11–12).
  • Biblical Conflict Resolution: Parents agree to follow a biblical process for conflict resolution (Matthew 18:15–16), which includes:
      1. Seeking resolution through a respectful one-to-one conversation;
      2. If unresolved, requesting a meeting with the Principal;
      3. If unresolved, requesting a meeting with the Head of School;
      4. If unresolved with administration, submitting a written request to the Board Chairman and Secretary to be placed on a board meeting agenda.
